In many cases, a mechanical radial seal can replace stuffing box packings with reduced wear and reduced water consumption as the foremost benefits. A mechanical radial seal works by two external plane surfaces (one of which is spring-loaded) working against one another without contact, separated by a sealing liquid film, which reduces the friction in the rotating joint.
Our mechanical radial seals can be provided with a special coating on the sealing surfaces to provide longer operating time and minimised water consumption, Diamond coating, which also provides excellent dry running characteristics in, for example, slurry pumps.
